All About The Homeschoolery

Amanda Wayne is a homeschool alum with 10 years of experience homeschooling her own children. Well versed in a variety of methods, Amanda is passionate about providing opportunities and learning experiences to children in their home environment. Growing up with a single mother in a low income household gave her the drive and passion for entrepreneurship as she held down several side hustles to help provide for her family. Amanda is currently taking classes at Brigham Young University- Idaho to earn a degree in Professional Studies with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Communications. In addition to her college courses, Amanda also homeschools her three children. Amanda has ADHD along with C-PTSD. Her children have a variety of mental health needs, the common factor in all of them being a primary diagnosis of ADHD.

What is ADHD+? Amanda created this term as she started the process of getting her children tested for ADHD. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is an often misunderstood condition, and has many co-morbid disorders that can affect how it displays and how it should be treated. By using the term ADHD+ families can focus on the primary role that ADHD plays in their family while also addressing the other difficulties that can come

hand-in-hand with the disorder. By looking at it as a whole system of functionality, rather than individual (and therefore unrelated) problems, families are empowered to find the right skills, modifications, and coping mechanisms to help their children learn in the best way possible.

Our Story

Spurred by the 2020 pandemic, families have been pulling their kids out of public schools in record numbers. This hasn’t slowed down with schools opening up again, either—families are realizing that there is a better way to teach their children than what the public school system can offer.

Due to safety concerns, teacher shortages, bullying, and privacy issues, families who never even considered homeschooling are now looking for help and resources to properly home-educate their children.

Melissa and Amanda are homeschooling veterans who saw first hand the lack of resources for brand new homeschooling families, as friend after friend came to them looking for advice on how to get started.

After combing the internet for a simple yet comprehensive step-by-step program designed for beginners (and coming up empty-handed), Melissa and Amanda set out to design their own.

And thus The Homeschoolery was born.

The Homeschoolery is a program dedicated to teaching parents how to homeschool their children effectively.

Initially created to help new homeschooling families, The Homeschoolery has become a platform where veteran homeschoolers can leverage their combined experience to create resources for homeschooling families of all experience levels.
